I am a promise
Scholarship for Campbell's students and GrandviewKids
When Ruth Althouse retired as Principal she wanted to do something that would support the students and give them hope for their future. Ruth saw the potential in the students and felt that the Scholarship would provide opportunities for further education. To date there have been 38 recipients of the Scholarship.
When Ruth was asked why the she called the Scholarship “I Am A Promise Award” she replied, “I wanted to give the children and their families hope. I saw that many families worried about their children’s future and wanted to help”.
Ruth mentioned that recipients had used the funds to assist with technology, text books and tuition. She also said that one parent said that it wasn’t the money that was important but the fact of being recognized by the Award.
Campbell Children’s School and Grandview is honoured to be chosen as the partner of this Award and appreciative of the contribution Ruth has made to the recipients. Donations made to Grandview and Campbell’s can be directed to the Award.
